我每靜念那十字架

一 我每靜念那十字架，

並主如何在上受熬，

我就不禁渾忘身家，

鄙視從前所有倨傲。

二 願主禁我別有所誇，

除了基督的十字架；

前所珍愛虛空榮華，

今為祂血情願丟下。

三 看從祂頭！祂腳！祂手！

憂情慈愛和血而流！

那有愛憂如此相遘，

荊棘編成如此冕旒？

四 看祂全身滿被水血，

如同穿上朱紅衣飾；

因此我與世界斷絕，

世界向我也像已死。

五 假若宇宙都歸我手，

盡以奉主仍覺可羞；

愛既如此奇妙深厚，

當得我心、我命、所有。

詩人以撒華滋有很多偉大的聖詩，但這首被稱為英語聖詩中最偉大的詩歌是我最喜愛的聖詩。每唱這詩總提醒我們的主為了我們的罪，捨身在十字架上拯救我們。並賜下新生命。面對這偉大的主和神，正如詩人在第五節所指出，主並不要我們用什麼善行和物質去報答祂的深恩厚愛。主喜悅我們將我們的心，生命和一切都交給祂。你知不知道，你和我這樣做。就會如經上所記:「我來了，是叫羊得生命，並且得的更豐盛。」

WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSS

1. When I survey the wondrous cross

On which the Prince of glory died,

My richest gain I count but loss,

And pour contempt on all my pride.

2. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,

Save in the cross of Christ my God;

All the vain things that charm me most,

I sacrifice them to His blood.

3. See from His head, His hands, His feet,

Sorrow and love flow mingled down;

Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,

Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4. His dying crimson like a robe,

Spreads o'er His body on the tree;

Then am I dead to all the globe,

And all the globe is dead to me.

5. Were the whole realm of nature mine,

That were an offering far too small,

Love so amazing, so divine,

Demands my soul, my life, my all!
